NAD IV

What is NAD+ and Why the Body Needs More?

Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (NAD+) is a naturally occurring coenzyme (vitamin B3) found in every cell of your body and plays a critical role in regulating cellular metabolism and energy homeostasis. In other words, NAD+ plays an essential role in metabolic function, slowing the aging process, promoting athletic function, boosting brain repair and function. Current research is revealing that there is a strong link between NAD+ levels in the body and how we age both mentally and physically.
NAD+ is probably the most important co-factor for improving mitochondrial function. Mitochondria are intracellular organelles (a.k.a. “energy powerhouses”) where macronutrients (proteins, carbohydrates, and fats from food) are converted to energy-rich ATP molecules for the cell. NAD helps the liver break down fats that are essential to provide energy for the body. It also helps create ATP, which is a major source of energy for cells. Lack of this essential cellular fuel is now recognized as a key feature of chronic fatigue, apathy, depression, anxiety, alcohol and drug addiction, weak immune system (infections and cancer), muscle pain and weakness, headaches, memory disturbance, sleep problems, focus and concentration defects and other chronic diseases.
Although we naturally produce NAD+ it, like most things, it reduces with age or certain factors can accelerate this process, including stress, sleep problems, environmental factors, and drug use. Intravenous use of NAD+ activates enzymes in the bloodstream called “sirtuins” which promote the “good” aspects of your genes which facilitates staying healthier longer and reducing the side effects of aging. NAD also repairs and lengthens telomeres, the protective caps at the end of your DNA, which slows how quickly your body ages.

Benefits of NAD+:

  • Improve focus and mental clarity
  • Reduce inflammation and pain
  • Improve muscle recovery
  • Improve many chronic illnesses
  • Increased metabolism
  • Increased energy
  • Prevent and correct DNA damage
  • Increased anti-aging benefits
  • Improve symptoms of depression, stress, anxiety, and PTSD

Effective treatment for many medical conditions like:

  • CFS
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Alzheimer’s disease
  • Neurodegenerative diseases like CTE
  • MS
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Headaches
  • Diabetes
  • Attention deficit
  • Alcohol and drug addiction

How does NAD+ works:

Muscle Recovery

Restoring cellular levels of NAD+ will keep cells young and resilient, which translates to increased energy, improved muscle recovery and less soreness after strenuous workouts. NAD+ is found in every cell of your body and plays a critical role in regulating cellular metabolism and energy homeostasis. NAD+ Therapy is a natural way for athletes to enhance their athletic performance.

Reduces Pain

NAD+ promotes healing from the inside out and improves many of the painful and debilitating symptoms of chronic illnesses. Low levels of NAD+ has a negative impact on several biological processes including cellular energy production, DNA repair, redox reactions, circadian rhythm, and immune response and inflammation

Mental Health

NAD+ treatments improve symptoms of depression, stress, anxiety, and PTSD. Oxidative stress increases with age and leads to degenerative processes that can cause both physical and emotional pain. Restoring energy deficiencies at the cellular level boosts vital cell functions, especially in the brain.

Anti-Aging

Research shows that as we age levels of NAD+ decline substantially either due to lifestyle, diet, stress, toxins, or a host of other factors. Because of its key role in many biological processes, when NAD+ levels are low we are more susceptible to neuro and muscular degeneration, it compromises our cardio metabolic health, and it compromises our capacity for cellular repair and resiliency. In short, declining levels of NAD+ compromises our cells’ ability to create energy, resulting in accelerated aging and an increased risk of disease.

Brain Health

Patients who have received NAD+ infusions report better focus and mental clarity. Neuro-inflammation, amyloid-beta plaques, mitochondrial damage, and increased oxidative stress contribute to cognitive decline. NAD+- dependent enzymes called sirtuins have shown to benefit brain health by acting on amyloid plaques, repairing DNA, lowering inflammation, and promoting neuronal function, which in turn can prevent or delay the onset of mild cognitive decline.

Treatment Protocols:

  • Clients must meet with a medical provider to ensure suitability.
  • For optimal results, we recommend receiving 3-6 gram doses
  • IV sessions may be scheduled once per week or more frequently (up to 2 sessions per
    week).
  • First IV – 250mg or 500mg, subsequent IVs of 500mg until client reaches the total grams of NAD desired. Patients may choose to increase the number of sessions if smaller doses are preferred.

Contraindications:

  • No known contraindications. Pregnant women or lactating women should NOT receive NAD treatment. Patients with kidney and active liver disease and congestive heart failure shouldn’t be given IV’s.

Possible Side Effects:

Due to extra ATP, (Adenosine Triphosphate) which is fuel for your cells throughout your body, NAD+ treatment must be infused over 2 hours minimum or it can cause increases in physiological activity including but not limited to:

  • Chest pressure
  • Stomach pain
  • Chills
  • Flushing

If any of the above side effects occur, the drip rate is to fast and needs to be slowed down until side effect subsides. (Side effects will present or subside almost immediately when finding the proper drip rate)

Cost

  • Individual Treatment- $450*
  • 3 grams- (Anti-Aging/ Energy & Recovery)= $2160 (20% off)
  • 6 grams- (Neuroregenerative/ Anxiety & Depression)= $3780 (30%0ff)
