Looking for a spa that integrates medical services with weight management and pain control?

Newly opened at 18th and M Streets, Nava Health & Vitality combines these services in a manner that gives new meaning to wellness.

Nava Founder and CEO Bernie Dancel says their innovative approach to health and wellness allows people to get the answers about their health that they’re looking for and need. They have developed a proprietary algorithm backed by medical professionals in the areas of vitality and aging, weight management, pain relief, and sports performance. Coupled with massage and acupuncture, all under one roof.

What they do not offer is gym classes, workout equipment, or yoga classes.

With advanced diagnostics, Nava professionals help you find answers to your medical and physical needs. Services range from medically-supervised weight loss to bio-identical hormone optimization. Their ground-floor suite includes consultation and treatment rooms where you can consult professionals on low energy, insomnia, anxiety, pain, menopause, and lack of sex drive.

Personalized programs are scheduled following an in-depth assessment of your lifestyle and goals, as well as on-site blood analysis. The core component is a Custom Vitality Plan. Monthly fees cover consultation and treatment.

Nava service offerings include treating the effects of aging, weight loss, and chronic pain. All work holistically, explains Dancel. Specialists associated with the Nava program include medical, chiropractic, and nutrition experts. We met Dr. Neil Spiegel, D.O., who leads the pain management, recovery therapy, and sports performance programs. His special interest is caring for people with acute and chronic musculoskeletal and neurologic pain. Named one of the D.C. area’s top physicians seven times over the past 20 years by Washingtonian magazine, Dr. Spiegel has designed protocols that have the ability to match the needs of individuals.

Dr Mark Sivieri, M.D., has played an integral role in the creation of Nava’s approach to integrated wellness. As a student at Georgetown University School of Medicine he recuperated from an injury with help from a chiropractor. That early experience led him into complementary medicine, an alternative to traditional medical care.

Headquartered in Columbia, MD, Nava now has a branch in Chevy Chase and is slated to open this September as part of the new Pike & Rose development in Rockville.
